The earth termination network connects to the down conductor network at the base of the building, and provides the means through which lightning current is dissipated to the general mass of earth.
Earthing components must offer both a low resistance to earth and have excellent corrosion resistance, as they will be buried in the ground for many years.
The range of Furse earthing products, including earth rods, plates, clamps and inspection pits, are all designed and manufactured in line with BS EN 50164 and BS 7430, to ensure they meet the demands required of earth termination system.
Additionally, we also manufacture the FurseWELD exothermic welding system; a fast easy and portable way of creating high quality, fault tolerant joints without any external power or heat source.
Using the relevant standards we can produce detailed or budgetary earth electrode designs, in compliance with recognized standards and whatever the complexity of system required. Full earthing analysis uses state-of-the-art software to determine the step and touch voltages, earth potential rise and fall and resistance to earth values.
A combination of Furse earth electrodes, soil conditioning, agent’s conductors and equipotential bonding bars provide an effective, low resistance dissipation of the fault current to earth.
